For a lot of small businesses: nothing. Or something outdated. Or a $300/month builder subscription you’re too busy to finish setting up.
Agencies tend to over-build or over-bill. Developers tend to overwhelm you and lock your work inside their platform forever. And if you’ve ever tried creating sites on Wix or Squarespace, you run into walls when you need additional features and performance—not to mention you’re locked into their environment.
Uncle Marketing small business website packages are different: focused, affordable, and enable you to grow or adapt when you need to. And our projects are backed by a marketing expert who understands what small businesses need.

The honest comparison
We have nothing against page builder sites for businesses. Many times, that’s all a business needs. But they can frustrate small business owners. Whether it’s a desire to move to another provider, complex processes for domain and site creation, or they forgot their login info and Wix or Squarespace shut them down. It’s fine if you never need to change your site, but when you realize you need more, life gets harder. For a small business, you have other things to worry about.
Page builder sites deal in volume, not service or strategy.

FAQs
Why is Uncle Marketing offering website creation?
So many small businesses struggle trying to create compelling, converting websites through trial and error or passing the responsibility to a web designer. Unfortunately, that’s not a great strategy. Websites are living marketing entities that need to be tended to and managed to improve customer engagement. As such, a lot of businesses don’t take the opportunity to maintain their investment. What they’re often missing is a way to understand how to get more out of it.
Can I use AI to create a website?
Absolutely. But do you know what a marketer knows? For example, how do you differentiate your site from a competitor? Are you going to measure good traffic vs. bot traffic? Will you know how to make simple edits or when you need to rearchitect the site? Do you know how your audience will engage with your information? Having a guide to creating your site is key. If you still don’t need Uncle Marketing to create your site, you may still want to get advice and support for doing it right. Click here for more.
How do I know which Uncle Marketing web package I need?
If you don’t know, complete the intake form, and we can recommend a solution that will work with your budget, capabilities, and objectives.
Do I need a blog?
Blogs are valuable for search engines to have signals into your site beyond basic information about your business. However, you’re highly encouraged to create meaningful, authentic content that is unique to your point of view. The ideal content is to use real stories from your experience relevant to your business, especially customer stories, and how you think about the current state of your business or industry. Best practice content is also valuable. You need to make sure blogs are well-sourced, provide internal linking, and are linked to from other sites. Just remember that the audience for your blog may not be your customer, but a bot. That said, if organic traffic doesn’t provide any sales value, it may not work for your business.
How often should we update our website?
In the past, sites could get away with a 3–5 year lifespan before needing an overhaul. But today, businesses should update their site every 12–18 months. It sounds like a lot, but if you are using your site properly, there are always ways to improve the customer experience, add new information, and expand content. Plus the tools for doing so are much more available and affordable. You don’t have to be a developer or hire one to create new web content.
Do I need a web designer?
If your content is not outrageously complicated, you generally don’t need a web designer. Today’s websites have modern frameworks that take care of basic layout needs, including for mobile. The design portion is really aligning your brand (logos, font faces, colors, etc.) to existing structures. You can absolutely still use a designer, but you should consider if it’s worth paying for based on your needs and the return on investment. If you have a design already and just need to implement it, contact us. We can build according to your specifications.
Do I need a custom theme?
There are pros and cons to custom theme development. Generally speaking, 95% of small businesses don’t need them. A well-developed core theme can do a lot for less. Re-skinning it to match your brand (logo, colors, fonts) is often enough and you can bring up a new site faster. That said, sometimes those themes are not well maintained and can get out of sync with other technologies being used. Then you have to choose between sticking with older technology or updating and fixing the theme. With advances in AI coding, we’re getting closer to the point where you can use AI to create a custom theme that still uses many of the same base components.
What does ‘one interactive element’ mean in Premier-Plus?
Interactive elements are meant to hold someone’s attention for longer than a standard web page. This signals to analytics engines that a page has unique, outstanding value because the user is doing something on the page for a longer amount of time. This might be a quotation tool, it could be a configurator, a video / slideshow, or even a game. It depends on who your customer is and what they’ll appreciate. Our goal is to create a page that someone will spend more than a minute on.
